AI survey generation

Draft survey and questions from an AI brief.

Documentation sections

AI generation helps to quickly assemble a draft of a custom survey when a template does not fit, and writing the structure entirely by hand takes too long. AI suggests categories and questions, but the survey still needs to be checked before launching.

Creation path

Open the Surveys section inside the organization and click Create survey. In the scenario selection window, choose Create with AI.

Fill out the brief:

  • Research topic — what the survey is about.
  • Research goal — what needs to be understood and what decisions to make.
  • Who responds — roles, teams, or groups of participants.
  • Growth points — what risks, tensions, or questions are especially important.
  • Desired result — what conclusion a manager, HR, or team needs.

Additionally, you can specify the context of the organization and sensitive boundaries: topics, tone, or phrasing that are best avoided. Then select the number of categories and questions per category and click Generate structure.

Before confirmation

First, the AI prepares an editable structure: the survey name, research intention, categories, and questions. At this step, the survey is not yet created.

Verify that the categories reflect your task, and the questions are understandable to participants. You can rename the survey, change categories, add, or delete questions. If the structure is empty or has unfilled fields, the confirm button will be unavailable.

When the structure is suitable, click Create survey. Up to this point, the draft is stored only on the page; if it is lost, the scenario must be started over.

After confirmation

The platform creates a draft survey and starts detailed AI refinement. The progress screen shows how many questions have been processed. The AI supplements the survey with a description, instructions, question intentions, keywords, and answer options.

When the Survey ready status appears, open the survey and check it in the editor. A failure when generating a single question does not interrupt the work on the others. Even if part of the refinement fails, the saved survey will be available and can be finished manually. The progress page is accessible via a direct link for about a week.

An AI-created survey does not launch automatically. After checking, open the survey card and click Launch survey — only then will the public link for participants appear.

Limits

AI generation consumes organization credits: separately for preparing the structure, refining the survey, and refining questions. If credits are insufficient, the new call does not start and no partial survey is created. Read more in Credits and limits.
